SureStay Plus by Best Western Montrose

Great stay during Christmas. Friendly staff, very welcoming - had suggestions for dinner and what was open during the holidays. Rooms were clean and comfortable, nothing fancy but had what we needed. Breakfast was good - my son loved the little waffles.

This hotel has most definitely come along way since my previous stay 4 years ago. It has been remodeled and is under new management, and i will now only stay here when I come to the Montrose area. Customer service is phenomenal as well the cleanliness of the entire hotel. Not to mention by far the best pool and hot tub, along with the breakfast every day (6am till 9am) at the perfect hours.

A good place to stay but don’t expect too much it’s is a clean hotel but could use some updating. The staff weren’t being cooperative very very nice and helpful. It’s located next to a fast food place and it’s close to other eating establishments a short car ride away. The lobby and general area are clean as well as the rooms. The bed is comfortable anything is good and no dropped signal. The TV is very small and could be a bit larger. I have never seen a toilet so small in my life, it looked and felt like a kids toilet that’s how small it was. We did not have the breakfast so no comment on that. It’s decent place to stay and we would definitely stay again if the price was right.

Our room shows its age (light bulbs burned out, lamp broken) and wasn’t set up correctly (sheets and blankets were in wrong order, hand towels missing, only one wash cloth). Nothing too bad; just seemed unkempt. We remade the bed and had a good quiet sleep.

My husband and I chose this location due to the proximity to Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. It was an easy commute to and from the park. We arrived and were blessed with an early check-in. When we got to our room, and unfortunately the air conditioner was making an awful noise. The front staff was amazing and moved us to another room and remedied the situation very quickly. On our last day, our plane did not depart until later in the afternoon and we asked for the opportunity to check out an hour later so that we could do one last final hike at the park in the morning. It was permitted and this really meant so much to us, you have no idea! It was by far our favorite hike and would not have been possible if we had any less time. The staff at the SureStay is what really makes this a 5-star experience, the rooms are sufficient and breakfast was good. We checked in on May 30th and we encountered a lovely young woman whose dog is named Shadow, another young woman and a young man who are all the most hospitable and friendly people. Thank you for a positive and wonderful experience in Montrose, CO!

My Family and I had a great stay at this location. The rooms were very clean and the service was amazing. Stevie (GM) and Emalyn went above and beyond for our entire visit. They even made recomendations to restuarants and activites in town to see. I see some less than stellar reviews on here and I am shocked? My reccomendation is if you have any issues, to let Stevie know and she will do everything in her power to make it right! Great Job Ladies!!!

I have been in Montrose for about a month using motels/hotels to recoup after camping for work. I have tried at least 3 other lodging options and Surestay has been the best option by a long shot. Stephanie, Patrick and Evelyn have been amazing and made me feel very welcome. The rooms are extremely well kept, the breakfast is available as promised and piping hot. I think I actually enjoyed a full meal this morning after a long month of scrounging snacks and quick bites. The pool is refreshing and the hot tub is a rejuvenating 104 degrees Fahrenheit. I was so impressed that I have decided to extend my stay through memorial weekend. If you are tired and in need of a promise kept, I encourage you to book a stay here at the Surestay Plus by Best Western. You will not regret it.

If you are depending on any amenities you see listed online, call them first to see if they are available. This is my main advice. We booked through the centralized Best Western booking system... they said that an adjoining rooms were available, and we saw that there was an indoor pool. I called them locally before we arrived and learned that the door to the only adjoining rooms was broken (seems like there was no ETA to fix this) and the indoor pool was out of service. Be aware that this hotel is inexpensive for a reason. Other than that, everything was smooth for us. Everything was good with breakfast. We left our kid's favorite stuffed animal in our room at check out and housekeeping had kindly saved it for us.
